A Hodgepodge Healer is someone who’s read a lot of healing books, maybe has even taken some smaller classes, or has some natural healing talent. But they’re struggling to put everything together into a cohesive healing system that gets results – both for their clients and themselves.
The mistake is in staying here.

Back in Usui Sensei’s, Hayashi Sensei’s, and Takata Sensei’s (3 of the founders of Reiki) era, students worked with these masters over months and even years of time honing their healing skills.
But now we expect to go to a weekend class or download a quickie Reiki course off the internet and be certified in Reiki in 48 hours.
Becoming a healing practitioner is just one of those things that is better and actually saves you time in the long run when you take your time with it.
More experience and support now = Less struggle and wasted time later.

Perfection paralysis will keep you stuck forever being a non-healer if you let it. The reality is, our mind may never feel prepared to heal others. Because we tend to think that we need to be further along than our clients in such massive ways. So it will never feel safe for us to put ourselves out there.
TRUTH: You only need to know 10% more than your client or student to actually be helpful to them. You do NOT need to be perfectly healed or be an absolute expert to be an incredible healing practitioner.
The antidote to perfection paralysis?
1) Walking your talk. It’s your insurance policy that you’re at the perfect place for you on your healing path and ready to hold the space for others.
2)Practice, practice, practice! Nothing makes you feel prepared faster to give Reiki than just doing it.

So many would-be healers, who when asked about getting the training they need to both heal themselves AND pursue their calling, say,
“Well, I want to…but now’s just not the time.”
But ignoring or delaying answering your calling tends to create…challenges.
It can, of course, be things as severe as my disabling or chronic illness. But it’s more commonly things as stressful as not feeling meaning in life, struggling to pay the bills, and feeling a sense of urgency, like there’s something you’re missing and there’s an alarm going off inside of you (I call it the Universe’s alarm clock⏰).
So if you have the opportunity to skip or stop making this mistake, please do! Only good things are waiting on the other side of that choice to get the training you need to answer your calling and heal yourself in the process.

The reality is: If you want to be a healer, it’s meant for you.
As a sensitive, light-worker kinda bunch, we tend to put being a healing pro up on a pedestal as something really special that is only for a select few who are blessed to have the resources or natural talent to succeed.
And if you’ve gotten that call, it’s your job to answer it. In fact, you may have even entered a soul contract to be a healer before you came into this life.

TRUTH: Reiki training is far from standardized.
Reiki curriculums vary drastically. Not just in content covered but how in depth this content is covered. And that’s just the beginning…
I often ask would-be healers, “Would you trust a doctor who chose to go to the cheapest school and where they were never tested and never got any of their questions answered by more experienced doctors?”

When it comes to Reiki, there are so many choices nowadays on how you can pursue your training! It’s just wonderful!! (This is coming from someone who learned Reiki in the ’90s when there were not so many choices. So I think it’s great!)

Sometimes you’ll come across people in the Reiki community who feel a hesitation around distance or online Reiki training.
Now, in regards to certain Reiki classes, these hesitations are indeed valid…
That’s because when someone is just collecting money, emailing a brief, poorly written “course manual,” and then sending a Chi ball attunement (to be received by the student whenever), it really does warrant concern around the quality of the training and makes you question whether this practitioner will be qualified to work with clients, let alone teach students of their own.

There is so much information in this course and it is so well organized! I am not someone who learns things in a day or two of live training, as I need plenty of time to let the information integrate. I like that these trainings are self-paced so that each learner can pick and choose how much time is spent on each lesson. When I share Reiki attunements with my students, I take the time to prepare for them just as I would before an in-person Reiki attunement. I prepare my space and myself, and I encourage my students to do the same. You’ll also receive a guided meditation with lovely music to listen to during your attunement.
When the time to share the attunement with you comes, I’ll use a surrogate, or stand-in, to represent you. I actually like to use a collection of stuffed animals, each labeled with the name of the student whom they represent.

In order to become a Certified Reiki Master, you’ll need to complete some important things.
You’ll need to watch all of the course videos. And you may also want to read the course manuals to reinforce the information that you learned in the videos.
You’ll also need to receive all four Reiki attunements for the Master Course.
You’ll have to complete a quiz for each lesson, as well as four exams. You’ll also get to complete four assignments, in addition to twelve case studies, that are, once again, reviewed personally by me to make sure that you’re ready to become a Certified Reiki Master.
Once you’ve completed all of this, you’ll receive your Reiki Master certificate. And you’ll then be entitled to use the initials CRM after your name.
Along the way, you’ll also be certified separately as a Reiki Level I, II, and IIIa practitioner. So you’ll receive a total of four certifications by the time you graduate from The Complete Reiki Training Program.
These other certificates will be dated with the date that you finish the work for that individual course level. That way they’ll accurately show your Reiki training progression over time.
