How to Use Reiki to Connect with What You Really Want

How Reiki Helps You Connect with What You Really Want

If you’ve been feeling unclear, disconnected, or unsure what you actually want, using Reiki to connect with what you really want can be a powerful place to begin.

Many people assume confusion means something is wrong.
In reality, it often means your system is overwhelmed, overstimulated, or carrying energy that isn’t yours.

Reiki helps quiet that noise—so your truth can surface naturally.

Part of the “Move Forward with Reiki” Series

This post is part of a longer Reiki series focused on moving forward without pressure or forcing.

It builds on:
How to Set Goals with Reiki (That Actually Feel Good) — learning how to create intentions from alignment, not hustle

And it follows:
Clear Energy Blocks with Reiki: A Gentle Practice— releasing resistance and stagnant energy

And it leads into:
A Reiki Ritual for Soul-Aligned Goal Setting — a heart-centered way to activate your intentions and call in what’s meant for you

Together, this series helps you release what’s in the way, reconnect with your truth, and take intuitive next steps from a grounded place.

In this post, we focus on the missing link for many people: reconnecting with what you truly want before taking the next step.

Why It’s So Hard to Know What You Want

If you’re sensitive, intuitive, or deeply empathetic, clarity can be elusive.
You may find yourself:

  • Absorbing other people’s expectations
  • Overthinking instead of feeling
  • Second-guessing your own desires
  • Feeling disconnected from your intuition

Over time, this creates distance from your inner truth.

That’s where Reiki to connect with what you really want becomes so supportive—because it works with your nervous system and energy body, not against them.

Why Reiki Works for Clarity and Inner Truth

Reiki doesn’t tell you what you should want.
Instead, it helps you hear yourself again.

Using Reiki to connect with what you really want supports:

  • Nervous system regulation
  • Emotional safety
  • Intuitive awareness
  • A sense of grounded clarity

Rather than forcing answers, Reiki creates space—so your truth can rise on its own.

A Reiki Practice to Connect with What You Really Want

You can return to this practice anytime you feel uncertain, disconnected, or at a crossroads.
You do not need to be Reiki-attuned to benefit.

Step 1: Get Grounded in Your Body

Find a quiet place where you can sit comfortably. Then:

  • Place your feet on the floor and let your spine lengthen naturally.
  • Rest one hand on your heart and one on your belly.
  • Take three slow, steady breaths.
  • Say silently:
    “I’m here. I’m listening.”

Step 2: Use Reiki to Settle Your Energy

If you’re attuned to Reiki, activate it now.

If not, simply bring gentle attention to your breath and body.

Imagine your energy settling downward—out of your head and into your body.

This step matters. Clarity comes from feeling, not thinking.

Step 3: Ask What You Really Want (and Listen)

Now, gently ask:

“What do I truly want right now?”

“What would feel nourishing and true?”

“What am I longing for beneath the surface?”

Using Reiki to connect with what you really want may bring:

  • A word
  • A sensation
  • An emotion
  • A sense of “yes” or “no”

You don’t need a full answer.
You’re building trust with your inner voice.

Important:

Don’t rush things! You may need to sit in this receptive space for two minutes or 30 minutes to get what you need on any given day and in regards to any particular topic. But if you don’t rush it, the insight you need and are ready for will eventually come.

If you hit resistance, breath through it. Find the spot in your body that feels most tight and actively breathe that tension out and bring yourself into relaxation. If you need to, place your hands on your solar plexus and work with a simple mantra, such as one of the following:

“I am safe.”

“My feelings and desires matter.”

“I am enough, no matter what.”

“I trust my Higher Self knows the perfect path for me.”

Step 4: Integrate the Insight

Once your insights feel complete and you don’t feel like any other messages are coming, place both hands on your heart.

Then:

  • Say quietly: “I honor my truth. I trust myself to receive it.”
  • Take a few deep breaths.

Next:

  • Put your feet firmly on the ground.
  • Drink some water.
  • You may also want to move your body or write down what came through.

This tells your system: This is safe, this is real, this matters.

How Reiki Helped Me Reconnect with My Own Truth

There were times in my life when I couldn’t tell the difference between what I truly wanted and what I thought I should want.

Using Reiki to connect with what I really wanted helped me:

  • Clarify my goals

  • Find peace in transition

When you connect with what you really want, the energy behind your intentions becomes magnetic.

Try This Before Setting Goals

This practice is especially helpful before:

  • Goal setting
  • Vision work
  • New beginnings
  • Major decisions

When you connect with what you really want first, everything that follows becomes clearer—and lighter.
