Your Sacral Chakra: 5 Quick + Easy Tips to Heal the Wellspring of Your Creativity
How’s your sacral chakra doing? Could it use some support and a bit of tending to? If so, it’s no surprise. Many people struggle with sacral chakra issues. You may be one of them if you find it hard to express your creative side, have difficulty experiencing joy or struggle with issues of shyness.
Since the sacral chakra allows you to be creative, helps you to express your sexuality, as well as feel pleasure, when this chakra gets out of balance, life can feel cold and dull. What’s worse is that this lack of vitality can take a toll on all of your chakras.
But the good news is, you can begin to take a few quick steps today to start giving some loving attention to your sacral chakra, which will support the health of all your other chakras.
What are the Chakras?
The chakras are a part of the energy body, or system.
More specifically, the chakras are the seven main energy centers in the body that regulate and process the flow of life force energy in and around each of us. Each chakra is responsible for supplying energy to specific parts of the body, mind and emotions.

Where is the Sacral Chakra Located?
The sacral chakra is the second chakra. It is located about two inches below your navel.
It’s associated with the ovaries in women and the testes in men.
Here’s a diagram that shows where the sacral chakra is on the human body:
This chakra is also known as Svadhisthana in Sanskrit. The meaning of Svadhisthana is “sweetness.”
What Does the Sacral Chakra Do?
Your sacral chakra is connected with many different aspects of your life, from being in-tune with your feelings, to your levels of abundance and prosperity, to your ability to trust others. The health of this chakra greatly impacts your vitality, stamina and fertility.
It also supplies energy to your reproductive organs and bladder.
How Do I Know If My Sacral Chakra Needs Support?
Signs of a balanced sacral chakra include feeling joyful and creative, having a healthy sex life and experiencing plenty of pleasure. If you don’t feel that this describes your life experience, your sacral chakra could probably use some support.
If you’re still unsure, consider the following questions:
- Do you have trouble with creative expression, to the point where you feel creatively blocked?
- Do you dislike being touched or do you have trouble touching others?
- Have you struggled with eating disorders?
- Do you struggle with low vitality and poor stamina?
- Do you have any issues with fertility or sexual dysfunction?
If you answered yes to one or more of the questions above, then consider trying out one of the following sacral chakra health tips.

What Can I Do to Support My Sacral Chakra?
While chakra healing is a comprehensive field, that doesn’t mean you can’t get your sacral chakra some much needed TLC-C (tender loving chakra-care) TODAY. In fact, here’s some quick and easy steps to get you started.
You won’t believe how easy it can be!
Tip # 1: Harness the Power of Crystal Healing
You can work with a crystal that supports the health of the sacral chakra. Some wonderful choices include:
- Orange Calcite
But there are many more choices available. Simply follow your intuition to find the crystal that is right for you.
Once, you’ve got your crystal all picked out, you can hold the crystal in your hand and “breathe” in the energy of the stone.
Or, you can lie on your back and place the crystal directly on your sacral chakra, a couple of inches below your belly button. As you lie with the stone, do so with the intention of supporting that chakra.
If you’re new to crystal healing start with five to ten minutes, and then gradually build up to 20 minutes of this practice.
Tip # 2: Work with the Magic of a Healing Affirmation
You can also use an affirmation to support the health of your sacral chakra.
Here’s a healing affirmation for your sacral chakra:
“I trust myself, others and the world. I easily express my feelings.”
You can repeat this affirmation, either out loud or silently to yourself, while meditating. Or, you can just say it whenever you feel like it, supporting your sacral chakra, and all its many functions, throughout your day.
While you speak or think the affirmation, envision your sacral chakra as clear of blockages, spinning freely, and as a beautiful, bright orange color.
Stopping to visualize your sacral chakra as healthy, while supporting it with loving, encouraging words throughout the day, is one of the fastest and most effective ways to make a difference in its functioning.
Tip # 3: Get Creative
Doing something creative is one of the best, easiest and fastest ways to support your sacral chakra. This could be something like singing, dancing or drawing a picture.
Now, if you choose to dance, dance without formal steps. Just let the movement arise out of you.
If you choose to sing, don’t worry about being in tune. Just sing from deep in your belly with joy and love.
And if you choose to draw or paint, don’t worry about making it pretty or staying in the lines. Paint your soul’s vision and use as many colors as possible!
Are you getting the theme? It’s not about perfection or “doing it right.” It’s all about letting the energy of creativity and organic expression flow throughout your body, mind and spirit. Doing this will get you well on the path to healing your sacral chakra. Plus, it will get some incredibly healing levels of life force energy flowing throughout your being, giving a lovely boost to all of your chakras!
Now, I know that if you’re having trouble with your sacral chakra, this might sound almost impossible. In fact, there may even be a small voice somewhere in the back of your mind going “AAAHHHH!” right now. That’s okay and to be expected.
So set yourself up for success with this. Draw the blinds, lock the door, and make sure you won’t be disturbed. It’s all about baby steps here and self-expression can be hard enough without worrying about others watching.
Once you’re set-up, my best advice is to take the leap and just do it. Don’t overthink it – overthinking is your worst enemy when it comes to getting this chakra back online.
And you may have to really fake the whole self-expression thing at first. Dance like a dork until the movement comes to you. Sing in a silly voice until you find your own. Smear the paint on the canvas until your soul can move the brush.
If it takes you five tries at this or just five minutes to get your sacral chakra juices flowing, it’s okay. Once the energy moves through you, organically and inspired it will all have been worth it! 😉
Tip # 4: Tap into the Energy of ORANGE
The sacral chakra is associated with the color orange.
This means that wearing the color orange can actually support your sacral chakra. So put on an orange shirt, or accent your outfit with an orange hat or scarf. Heck, even a necklace or earrings with orange stones will work. It’s such a simple way to invite more creativity and sensuality into your life!
If you don’t want to wear orange, you can simply gaze at the color, such as an orange flower, an orange, meaning the delicious, juicy fruit, or even a orange piece of construction paper. Anywhere that you can find some orange to look at will work perfectly.
Tip # 5: Make Friends with a Yantra
Each chakra has a sacred symbol that represents it, called a yantra.
Here is the yantra for the sacral chakra:
Gazing upon this yantra in meditation will help to clear, strengthen and fortify your sacral chakra.
You can start by looking at this image with a very soft focus to your eyes. Don’t stare intently, just relax. You can start with as little as one to two minutes, and work you way up to ten or more.
